Director of Student Ministries
Michael Barton joined us in April of 2011. He is a graduate of Geneva College’s youth ministry program in 2003 and has been in the ministry field for eight years. Michael was born and raised in our backyard in Allison Park and graduated from Hampton Township… we won’t hold that against him.
Mike is happily married to his wife Julie and they have two children with one on the way, Jacob is 5 and Grace is 2. Julie is an occupational therapist at a local retirement home and a dedicated mother!
Mike’s inspirational Bible verse is Isaiah 40:31.

Why did you start: I love the kids and my girls were in the program at the time.

Why did you start: I was asked by the youth pastor at the time and my oldest son was in youth group back then.

Years as Leader: Since 2000
Why did you start: My daughters were students in Youth Group. I was asked to chaperon at Laurelville and things became more permanent!
Favorite Youth Event: Fall Retreats. There’s such an energy in worship there!
Other Church Activities: Church Elder, chaired various Committees.

Why did you start: Youth Ministry made a difference in my life growing up. I also think Youth Ministry is crucial to a vibrant church. Plus I really like the students a lot.
