What to Expect
Welcome to our Community!
Welcome and thanks for checking out Student Ministries at Wexford CPC! If you’ve come here, you’re probably curious to discover what we’re all about. Student Ministries, as the name implies, exists for students. It’s a place where teens can come, learn, and grow in a relaxing, relevant, safe environment. It’s a community of students who love deeply, share their joys and burdens with one another, and grow together in the love of Jesus Christ. It’s a place where students are equipped to serve and be more like Christ in their homes, schools, neighborhoods and all other aspects of life. Finally it’s a place for you (if you’re a student) or your teen (if you’re a parent). We would love to have you come visit and see if God might be leading you to become a part of our community.
What to expect at Wexford Student Ministries
Weekly Meetings
If you are in 6-8th grade the time to mark down is Sunday’s from 4-5:30. The Jr. High Youth Group is called The Ground Floor. This is a weekly time of fun, games, worship, teaching and small groups. It’s a chance to get together with your friends, unwind and be just be yourself.
If you are in 9-12th grade your time to be here is Sunday’s from 6:30-8. We call this group The Root because the idea is to go deeper in our relationship with Christ and others. It’s a time to come hang out with some friends, have fun, engage in worship and learn and discuss God’s Word, discovering how to live more authentically like Him.
Monthly Events
Every month we have at least one or two events outside of regular weekly meetings. This could be anything from bowling, ice skating, baseball games, mini-golfing, or cookouts. The idea is simply to get together and have a great time in community. These events will show up on the calendar under “Events” up top!
Fall/Spring Retreats
Every Fall and Spring, there are retreats for Jr. High and Sr. High. In the Fall we usually go to Laurelville or Jumonville camps with Pittsburgh Kids Network. In the Spring we tend to find someplace to do our own thing as a church. They usually last from Friday-Sunday and are simply a great time to get away from the stress of life and unwind with a bunch of your friends.
Engage in Service
A huge part of Wexford Student Ministries is service and missions. We want to give more than we take. Part of living in community means serving the community in which you live. During the year there are various service opportunities such as tutoring at the Pittsburgh Project or relational ministry in Elderly Care Homes for instance. Click Here to Get Involved!
Summer Mission Trips
As part of the commitment to service, both the Jr. and Sr. High participate in mission trips once a year in the summer. Dates and details are usually announced mid-September. Mission Trips are usually a week long and take students to various demographics around the U.S. ranging from urban to rural and small to large town settings!

NOTICE: We often take photographs of our
youth when they are participating in Youth Group activities, including retreats
and mission trips, so that we can share the joy of their experiences with
members of the congregation. We completely respect the privacy of our
youth and their families, however, and, for that reason, I ask that you contact
me if you have any concerns about our using photos of your children on our
website, in the Church Bulletin, or elsewhere within the Church.
