Meet Our Staff:
Rev. Dr. Tyler Domske
Prior coming to WCPC as pastor in 2016, Tyler had served four years as Associate Pastor for Youth & Families at Northmont Church in Pittsburgh's north hills, and four years as Associate Pastor for Youth at First Presbyterian Church of Mooresville, North Carolina. Tyler is a graduate of Westminster College (BA in History, 2002) and the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary (Masters in Divinity, 2008), and completed his doctoral degree through UDTS in 2017. The focus of his doctoral thesis is the relationship between how a church identifies itself and its function in relation to how a church educates itself: if we don't know who we are, how can we know what we are called to do? Prior to seminary, Tyler taught history and social studies in public schools in Florida and greater Chicago.
Tyler is deeply focused on seeking God and learning more about God each day. Of particular interest is finding signs of God in our everyday life - within the culture and the media that we consume - allowing our faith to permeate our every day life rather than being cordoned off into subsets that never interact. Essentially, cultivating a faith that is real and is not threatened by our Monday to Saturday life, but flourishes in it.
Tyler's wife Adrien has worked as a marine mammal trainer (working with dolphins), an animal keeper (working with walrus, seals, and sea lions), an aquarist (working with fish, birds, otters, and alligators), a herpetologist (working with reptiles & amphibians), and currently works for the Pittsburgh Presbytery (working with Presbyterians). Together, they have three children: Elliott, Harper, and Judah, and a menagerie of pets.
Director of Music
Andrew joined the WCPC staff in spring of 2018 as our Director of Music, heading up all the music of the church, including the choir, bells ensemble, and worship music at both the traditional and contemporary services. Andrew’s involvement in church music began at a young age, as his father was Presbyterian minister and Andrew grew up singing in church choir.
Andrew graduated with a BFA in music performance in violin and viola from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is a published composer and currently holds the title of principle viola in the Washington Symphony Orchestra, for which he is also the Principal Arranger. He is the former concert master of the Pittsburgh Savoyards orchestra and Assistant Conductor of the Pittsburgh Savoyards Opera Company.
Director of Children and Youth Ministry
Rhema joined the WCPC staff in Fall of 2019 as the Children and Youth Ministry Director. Prior to this, he served as Youth and Kids Ministry Intern for North Way Community Church Beaver Valley (December 2018 - May 2019), Bible Instructor for Valley View Presbyterian’s Freedom Camp (Summer of 2018 and 2019), and Summer Ministry Intern for Valley View Presbyterian (2018). Rhema is a graduate from Geneva College, with a BA in Pre-Seminary.
Rhema is a dedicated servant, who is committed to showing the light of Christ to others. Having come to know Christ as a young teenager himself, Rhema is especially interested in creating relationships, sharing the Gospel, and showing Christ’s love to our next generation.
